ہائی بلڈ پریشر کیا ہے؟ کیوں ہوتا ہے؟ علاج کیا ہے؟

بلند فشار خون جسے انگریزی میں ہائی بلڈ پریشر کہا جاتا ہے، دل کے دورے اور اسٹروک کا ایک بڑا سبب ہے، مگر بہت سے لوگ اس کے بارے میں کئی حقائق سے واقف نہیں۔

1۔ بلڈپریشر زندہ رکھتا ہے
ہمارا دل ایک چھوٹا مگر طاقت وَر پمپ ہے جو باقاعدگی سے دھڑکتا ہے اور ہر ایک منٹ میں جسم میں پھیلی ہوئی ان گنت رگوں میں پانچ لیٹر خون پمپ کرتا ہے۔ اس عمل یعنی خون کی گردش کو برقرار رکھنے کے لیے نظام دوران خون میں دباؤ کا ہونا ضروری ہے۔ یہی دباؤ بلڈپریشر کہلاتا ہے۔ بلڈپریشر دو قسم کے ہوتے ہیں: انقباضی اور انبساطی۔ جب ہمارا دل سکڑتا ہے تو اس وقت بلڈ پریشر انقباضی فشار خون یا سسٹولک پریشر کہلاتا ہے۔ اور جب دل نارمل حالت میں آتا ہے تو اسے انبساطی یا ڈائسٹولک پریشر کہتے ہیں۔ اگر بلڈ پریشر کی ریڈنگ 140 / 80 ہو تو اس کا مطلب ہوگا کہ سسٹولک پریشر 140 اور ڈائسٹولک پریشر 80 ہے۔

2۔ دن بھر بلڈپریشر بدلتا رہتا ہے
دن بھر کے دوران بلڈپریشر کی سطح میں تبدیلی واقع ہوتی رہتی ہے۔ جب آپ ورزش کررہے ہوں یا دباؤ میں ہوں تو بلڈپریشر بڑھ جاتا ہے۔ جسم جب آرام دہ حالت میں ہو یا آپ سورہے ہوں تو پھر اس کی سطح گرجاتی ہے۔ دل چسپ بات یہ ہے کہ ڈاکٹر یا نرس سے چیک کرواتے ہوئے بلڈپریشر خود بہ خود بڑھ جاتا ہے۔ طبی اصطلاح میں اسے ’ وائٹ کوٹ بلڈ پریشر‘ کہا جاتا ہے۔ ایسی صورت میں اگر آپ گھر پر بلڈ پریشر مانیٹر رکھیں اور ریڈنگز لیتے رہیں تو بلڈ پریشر کی بالکل درست صورت حال آپ کے سامنے آجائے گی۔

روزانہ یا ہر ہفتے بلڈپریشر چیک کرنے کی ضرورت نہیں؛ اگر آپ ہائی بلڈ پریشر کی دوا لے رہے ہیں اور یہ کنٹرول میں ہے تو پھر ہر چند ماہ کے بعد چیک کروالینا کافی ہے، بہ صورت دیگر ہر چند ہفتے بعد چیک کروالینا چاہیے۔ اگر بلڈپریشر نارمل ہے تو پھر سال میں دو سے زیادہ بار چیک کروانے کی ضرورت نہیں۔ بیشتر ڈاکٹر یہ بات تسلیم کرتے ہیں کہ 130/80 بلڈ پریشر یا اس سے کم قابل قبول ہے۔ اگر آپ ذیابیطس کے مریض ہیں یا دل کے عارضے میں مبتلا ہیں تو پھر ریڈنگ اس سے کم ہونا زیادہ بہتر ہے۔

3۔ ہائی بلڈ پریشر۔۔۔۔۔ بس ہوجاتا ہے !
ہائی بلڈ پریشر یعنی بلند فشار خون جسے ہائپرٹینشن بھی کہا جاتا ہے، بہت سے لوگ اس کا شکار ہوجاتے ہیں۔ عمر بڑھنے کے ساتھ ساتھ اس کی شکایت عام ہوجاتی ہے۔ اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ عمر میں اضافے کے ساتھ جسم کے مختلف حصوں میں خون پہنچانے والی رگوں کی لچک کم ہوجاتی ہے، بہ الفاظ دیگر یہ قدرے سخت ہوجاتی ہیں۔ مگر یہ بات بھی ذہن میں رہے کہ ہائی بلڈ پریشر لاحق ہونے کی کوئی خاص وجہ نہیں ہوتی، بس یہ ہوجاتا ہے۔ اسے بنیادی یا ابتدائی ہائپرٹیشن کہتے ہیں۔ 10 فی صد معاملات میں ہائپرٹینشن  کا کوئی نہ کوئی طبی سبب ضرور ہوتا ہے۔ اسے ثانوی ہائپرٹینشن کہا جاتا ہے۔ ہائپرٹینشن لاحق ہونے کی طبی وجوہات میں گردے کے امراض، گردوں کو خون کی رسد میں رکاوٹ، حد سے زیادہ شراب نوشی، اور کچھ ہارمون کے مسائل ہوتے ہیں جو گردوں کو متأثر کرتے ہیں۔ یعنی ہائپرٹینشن کا بلاواسطہ بالواسطہ طور پر گردوں سے اہم تعلق ہوتا ہے۔

4۔ کئی عوامل ہائی بلڈ پریشر کی وجہ بن سکتے ہیں، ان میں سے اہم مندرجہ ذیل ہیں:
٭ یہ موروثی بھی ہوتا ہے

٭ مُٹاپا

٭سگریٹ نوشی

٭ خوراک میں نمک کی زائد مقدار

٭ ورزش کی کمی

٭ ذیابیطس

٭ گردوں کے امراض

5۔ ہائی بلڈ پریشر سے بے خبری
بیشتر لوگوں میں ہائپرٹینشن کی کوئی خاص علامات ظاہر نہیں ہوتیں، لہٰذا وہ اس مرض سے بے خبر رہ کر زندگی گزارتے رہتے ہیں۔ بہ ظاہر ہر لحاظ سے صحت مند اور فٹ دکھائی دینے والے افراد بھی ہائی بلڈ پریشر کا شکار ہوسکتے ہیں، مگر وہ اس بات سے لاعلم ہوتے ہیں۔ بہرحال شدید صورت میں ہائی بلڈ پریشر کی علامات ظاہر ہوتی ہیں۔ ان علامات میں ناک سے خون آنا، سردرد، بے خوابی، ذہنی پریشانی اور الجھن، اور سانس کے مسائل شامل ہیں۔

اگر ہائپرٹینشن کا علاج نہ کیا جائے تو دل کے دورے اور اسٹروک کے امکانات کئی گنا بڑھ جاتے ہیں۔ ہائپرٹینشن کا علاج کرواکر کئی بڑے امراض سے بچا جاسکتا ہے۔ علاج نہ کروانے کی صورت میں دل کے دورے اور اسٹروک کے علاوہ دل کا فیل ہوجانا یعنی خون پمپ کرنے کی صلاحیت کا بہ تدریج کمزور پڑجانا، گردوں کا فیل ہوجانا، ضعف بصارت اور آنکھوں کے امراض سے سابقہ پڑسکتا ہے۔ ہائپرٹینشن کا علاج نہ کروانے کی وجہ سے پیٹ اور سینے سے گزرنے والی مرکزی شریان پھیل کر پھٹ سکتی ہے اور اس کے خطرناک نتائج برآمد ہوسکتے ہیں۔

6۔ ہائی بلڈ پریشر پر قابو پانے کے لیے کیا کیا جاسکتا ہے؟
اگر ڈاکٹر نے آپ کو ہائپرٹینشن تشخیص کی ہے تو گھبرائیے نہیں، اچھی بات یہ ہے کہ آپ ادویہ کے بغیر، بہ ذات خود بھی اس کا علاج کرسکتے ہیں۔ ہائپرٹینشن کا شکار ایک چوتھائی افراد محض اپنے طرز زندگی میں بدلاؤ لاکر بلڈ پریشر کو نارمل سطح پر لے آتے ہیں۔ ذیل میں ان تبدیلیوں کا ذکر کیا جارہا ہے جو ہائی بلڈ پریشر پر قابو پانے میں معاون ہوسکتی ہیں۔

سگریٹ نوشی سے توبہ: سب سے پہلے تو آپ سگریٹ نوشی سے توبہ کرلیں۔ بلڈ پریشر کو کنٹرول میں لانے اور عمومی صحت بہتر بنانے کے لیے جو سب سے بڑا کام آپ کرسکتے ہیں وہ یہی ہے، یعنی سگریٹ نوشی سے پرہیز۔ سگریٹ نوشی کی وجہ سے دل کے امراض لاحق ہونے کا خطرہ دگنا اور زندگی مختصر ہوجاتی ہے۔ سگریٹ نوشی کرنے والا انسان عام طور پر ریٹائرمنٹ کی عمر کو نہیں پہنچ پاتا اور دل کی بیماریوں سمیت مختلف امراض میں مبتلا ہوکر زندگی سے ہاتھ دھوبیٹھتا ہے۔ اگر سگریٹ سے ناتا توڑنا دشوار محسوس ہورہا ہو تو پھر ڈاکٹر سے رجوع کریں۔

وزن میں کمی: وزن میں ہر ایک کلوگرام کی کمی ہائی بلڈپریشر کی سطح نیچے لانے میں معاون ہوگی۔ وزن کم کرنے کے لیے روغنی غذاؤں سے پرہیز کریں۔ مرغ اور مچھلی کا گوشت، تازہ پھل، سبزیاں اور ریشے دار غذائیں استعمال کریں۔

باقاعدگی سے ورزش: اس مقصد کے لیے آپ جم بھی جوائن کرسکتے ہیں، اگر وقت نہ ہو تو پھر ہفتے میں تین چار بار 20 سے 30 منٹ کی تیزقدمی یعنی واک وزن گھٹانے میں معاون ہوگی۔

نمک سے پرہیز: کھانوں اور مشروبات وغیرہ میں نمک نہ ڈالیں۔ فاسٹ فوڈز اور پروسیسڈ فوڈز سے گریز کریں کیوں کہ ان میں نمک بڑی مقدار میں ہوتا ہے۔

اگر درج بالا تمام اقدامات سے آپ کا ہائی بلڈپریشر مکمل طور پر کنٹرول میں نہ آئے تب بھی ان کی وجہ سے، جو دوائیں آپ استعمال کریں گے ان کی تعداد ضرور کم ہوجائے گی۔

The Diet That Starves Cancer, Reverses Diabetes, And Makes You Lose Weight Fast

Oncologists Accidental Discovery – The Juice That Kills Cancer

Recently, a group of Canadian scientists discovered that there’s an effective herb that can kill cancer naturally and without side-effects in just 2 days!

Terrific news come from the University of Windsor, where scientists have been examining the effects of dandelion against cancer since 2009. The project started when one oncologist discovered a relation between dandelion root tea and lower risk of cancer.

Pamela Ovadje is a post-doctoral candidate at the University who found the benefits of the root. “One oncologist who worked with us, told us the unbelievable improvement in a patient’s daily drinking tea from dandelion root.

We immediately began to investigate this tea to see how other patients respond to it, however we were pretty skeptical. I thought that dandelion grows all over, and if at all there is something great in it, people would have long ago found,” she remembers.

“Since we began this project, we were able to get out of dandelion root extract and use it to many types of human cancer in the lab. In the lab, we observed its effectiveness against leukemia cells, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer, and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. We’ve discovered that dandelion root has extremely strong effect on them without harming healthy cells. Furthermore, studies have validated the efficacy in mice transplanted human cancer cells,” Ovadje says.

Dandelion root extract has been approved for human trials since 2015 and is in the first phase of research for treatment of lymphoma and leukemia. Dr. Sciarra Pandi, a biochemist at the University and one of the leaders on the research, considers the extract one of the most effective natural remedies against the deadly disease.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The extract works by inducing apoptosis in the cancer cells. In simpler terms, it makes the cancer cells commit suicide without damaging the healthy cells in any way. Although the research is still in the beginning stages, it has shown a lot of potential and may be the base for a future treatment.

Elderberry – The Most Anti-Viral Fruit Known To Man

The elderberry extract can be your most powerful weapon against influenza, and numerous medical journals have listed it as one of the most effective herbal remedies in the treatment of the flu.

PubMed writes:

“Sambucus nigra L. products – Sambucol – are based on a standardized black elderberry extract. They are natural remedies with antiviral properties, especially against different strains of influenza virus. Sambucol was shown to be effective in vitro against 10 strains of influenza virus. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized study, Sambucol reduced the duration of flu symptoms to 3-4 days.”

This extract offers numerous health benefits, which have often been scientifically proven, and according to the  Journal of International Medical Research:

“Elderberry has been used in folk medicine for centuries to treat influenza, colds and sinusitis, and has been reported to have antiviral activity against influenza and herpes simplex. We investigated the efficacy and safety of oral elderberry syrup for treating influenza A and B infections.

Sixty patients (aged 18 – 54 years) suffering from influenza-like symptoms for 48 h or less were enrolled in this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study during the influenza season of 1999 – 2000 in Norway. Patients received 15 ml of elderberry or placebo syrup four times a day for 5 days and recorded their symptoms using a visual analog scale.

Symptoms were relieved on average 4 days earlier and use of rescue medication was significantly less in those receiving elderberry extract compared with placebo. Elderberry extract seems to offer an efficient, safe and cost-effective treatment for influenza.”

The elderberry has been used for thousands of years, and its medicinal properties have been mentioned in ancient medicinal texts. In 400 BC, Hippocrates referred to it as his “medicine chest” since it offers a myriad of health uses. Additionally, it is also mentioned in the writings of Pliny the Elder about the practices of the ancient Romans.

However, scientists isolated its active compound, known as Antivirin, which is found in proteins of the black elderberry. It has powerful antiviral properties that effectively prevent the spread of the flu virus.

A study has shown that the active components in Sambucol boost the inflammatory cytokine production and thus activate the healthy immune system.

The CDC report that this is particularly beneficial in the case of the Avian flu, which led to death in 60% of the 600 cases reported worldwide.   Even though it is rarely transmissible to and between people, its mutation might lead to a deadly pandemic.

“Since the first avian influenza outbreak, in 1997, there has been concern that the influenza A (H5N1) virus might either mutate and adapt to allow efficient transmission during the infection of mammals or reassort its gene segments with human influenza viruses during the coinfection of a single host, resulting in a new virus that would be both highly lethal and transmissible from person to person.

Such events are believed to have preceded the influenza pandemics of 1918, 1957, and 1968. Several lines of evidence indicate that the currently circulating influenza A (H5N1) viruses have in fact evolved to more virulent forms since 1997, with a higher mortality among human cases, different antigenic properties, a different internal gene constellation, and an expanded host range.  “

The study conducted by Zacay-Rones in 1995 showed that black elderberry manages to fight against the Avian flu, specifically Panama B strain.

“A standardized elderberry extract, Sambucol (SAM), reduced hemagglutination and inhibited replication of human influenza viruses type A/Shangdong 9/93 (H3N2), A/Beijing 32/92 (H3N2), A/Texas 36/91 (H1N1), A/Singapore 6/86 (H1N1), type B/Panama 45/90, B/Yamagata 16/88, B/Ann Arbor 1/86, and of animal strains from Northern European swine and turkeys, A/Sw/Ger 2/81, A/Tur/Ger 3/91, and A/Sw/Ger 8533/91 in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells.

A placebo-controlled, double-blind study was carried out on a group of individuals living in an agricultural community (kibbutz) during an outbreak of influenza B/Panama in 1993.

Fever, feeling of improvement, and complete cure were recorded during 6 days. Sera obtained in the acute and convalescent phases were tested for the presence of antibodies to influenza A, B, respiratory syncytial, and adenoviruses. Convalescent-phase serologies showed higher mean and mean geometric hemagglutination inhibition (HI) titers to influenza B in the group treated with SAM than in the control group.

A significant improvement of the symptoms, including fever, was seen in 93.3% of the cases in the SAM-treated group within 2 days, whereas in the control group 91.7% of the patients showed an improvement within 6 days (p < 0.001). A complete cure was achieved within 2 to 3 days in nearly 90% of the SAM-treated group and within at least 6 days in the placebo group (p < 0.001).

No satisfactory medication to cure influenza type A and B is available. Considering the efficacy of the extract in vitro on all strains of influenza virus tested, the clinical results, its low cost, and absence of side-effects, this preparation could offer a possibility for safe treatment for influenza A and B. “

This study has provided evidence that Sambucol treats the flu symptoms and accelerates the recovery, in the case of both, Influenza A and Influenza B strains.

Participants who received Sambucol instead of a placebo needed less over- the- counter medications to alleviate the aches, and treat symptoms like congestion, and fever.

“Thom’s findings were presented at the 15th Annual Conference on Antiviral Research in 2002. The study has been accepted for publication in the Journal of International Medical Research.

The study involved 60 patients who had been suffering from flu symptoms for 48 hours or less; 90% were infected with the A strain of the virus, 10% were infected with type B. Half the group took 15 milliliters of Sambucol or and the other group took a placebo four times a day for five days.

Patients in the Sambucol group had “pronounced improvements” in flu symptoms after three days: Nearly 90% of patients had a complete cure within two to three days. Also, the Sambucol group had no drowsiness, the downside of many flu treatments. The placebo group didn’t recover until at least day six; they also took more painkillers and nasal sprays. “

Therefore, Sambucol prevents the flu, and also reduces its severity and shortens its duration.

The Israeli researchers gave children 1/2 tablespoon of Sambucol extract four times daily, while the adults received 1 tablespoons four times daily.  The only elderberry extract used in the study was Sambucol.

The elderberry extract should be stored in a dry and cool place. You can consume it in various ways, directly from the spoon, you can add it to sparkling water, or to a cup of hot water, and sweeten with honey.

There are no reports of any side-effects due to the use of Sambucol, nor any contraindications with medications, but it is always wiser to consult your physician before you start taking any remedy.

It is completely safe for children older than 2 and adults. Researchers are currently investigating the effects of Sambucol in the treatment of inflammatory disorders, allergies, cancer, and HIV.
