سبزچائے نے تجربہ گاہ میں سرطانی خلیات کو تباہ کردیا

 لندن: ایک قسم کی سبزچائے، میچا گرین ٹی میں ایسے خاص اینٹی آکسیڈنٹس ہوتے ہیں جو بعض اقسام کے سرطانی خلیات (سیلز) کو ختم کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں۔

اس ضمن میں برطانیہ کی سیلفورڈ یونیورسٹی کے ماہرین نے کینسر کی وجہ بننے والے اسٹیم سیلز پر میچا چائے کی آزمائش کی اور اس کے حیرت انگیز نتائج برآمد ہوئے۔

ایجنگ نامی ریسرچ جرنل میں شائع ہونے والی اس تحقیق میں کہا گیا ہے میچا چائے کے اجزا نے بریسٹ کینسر کے خلیات کی تہوں ( اسٹیم سیل لائنز) میں جاری سرطانی عمل کو تبدیل کرکے اسے ایک ایسی سطح تک پہنچادیا کہ وہ مزید پھیلنے سے رک گئے۔ دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ میچا چائے کے اجزا کی بہت معمولی مقدار استعمال کی گئی تھی۔

ماہرین نے یہ بھی دیکھا کہ کینسر اسٹیم سیل کے فروغ میں اندرونی سگنلنگ کے پورے نظام میں میچا چائے نے ایم ٹی او آر سگنلز پر اثرانداز ہوکر 40 ایس رائبوسوم کو کمزور بنادیا تاکہ کینسر مزید نہ پھیلے۔ اس سے معلوم ہوا کہ میچا چائے کو ایک دوا ’ریپامائسن‘ کی جگہ استعمال کیا جاسکتا ہے جو عین وہی کام کرتی ہے جو اوپر بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

اس پر تحقیق کرنے والے پروفیسر مائیکل لیسانٹی کہتے ہیں کہ سبز چائے کی یہ قسم بہت سے طبی فوائد رکھتی ہے۔ لیکن اس سے قبل اس کو وہ پورا نظام سمجھنا ہوگا جو چائے کو اس قابل بنارہا ہے۔

تجربہ گاہ میں برسیٹ کینسر کے خلیات دھیرے دھیرے فاقہ ذدہ ہوگئے اور اس کے بعد ختم ہونا شروع ہوئے جو ایک انقلابی عمل ہے۔

واضح رہے کہ سبز چائے کی بہت سی اقسام ہیں اور میچا گرین ٹی پاکستان ک بڑے اسٹوروں میں مل سکتی ہے۔

پاکستان میں سالانہ دولاکھ اسقاط حمل ہوتے ہیں، اقوام متحدہ

 اسلام آباد: اقوام متحدہ کے ادارہ برائے بہبود آبادی فنڈ نے دعویٰ کیا ہے پاکستان میں سالانہ دو لاکھ سے زائد خواتین اسقاط حمل کرواتی ہیں جس کی بنیادی وجہ زچہ کا مانع حمل ادویات تک رسائی نہ ہونا ہے۔

بین الاقوامی خبر رساں ادارے کے مطابق اقوام متحدہ بہبود آبادی فنڈ (UNFPA ) نے پاکستان میں کیے گئے اپنے حالیہ سروے کے اعداد و شمار جاری کیے ہیں۔ سروے کے اعداد وشمار کے مطابق سالانہ 2 لاکھ سے زائد خواتین اسقاط حمل کرواتی ہیں اور تقریباً تمام ہی اسقاط حمل خفیہ طور پر مگر رضامندی سے کروائے جاتے ہیں۔

سروے میں کہا گیا ہے کہ اسقاط حمل کے لیے ناکافی سہولیات اور تجربہ کار اسٹاف نہ ہونے کے باعث اس عمل کے دوران خواتین کی زندگیوں کو شدید خطرہ لاحق رہتا ہے جس کا اندازہ صرف اس بات سے لگایا جا سکتا ہے کہ 6 لاکھ 30 ہزار خواتین نا تجربہ کار اسٹاف سے اسقاط حمل کرنے کے باعث پیچیدگیوں کا شکار ہوگئیں۔

بہبود آبادی کے ادارے (NIPS) کی ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر ڈاکٹر عائشہ شیراز نے سروے سے متعلق میڈیا کو بتایا کہ ملک بھر سے 580 مختلف نسلوں سے تعلق رکھنے والی 16 ہزار 2 سو 40 گھرانوں کی خواتین کو شامل کیا گیا۔ سروے سے پتا چلا کہ پاکستان میں اوسطاً ایک خاتون 3.6 بچوں کو جنم دیتی ہے جب کہ یہ تناسب شہری علاقوں میں 2.9 اور دیہی علاقوں میں 3.9 ہے، 1990ء کے سروے کے مطابق پاکستان میں فی عورت 5.4 بچوں کو جنم دیا کرتی تھی۔

اسقاط حمل کے بڑھتے واقعات کی وجہ مانع حمل ادویات تک عام خواتین کی رسائی نہ ہونا ہے اور صوبہ بلوچستان میں مانع حمل ادویات کا استعمال نہ ہونے کے برابر ہے جس کی وجہ غربت اور آگاہی کا فقدان ہے یہی وجہ ہے کہ یہاں حاملہ خواتین کے پاس اسقاط حمل کے سوا کوئی اور چارہ کار نہیں رہتا۔

واضح رہے کہ پاکستان میں زچہ و بچہ کی صحت سے متعلق سہولیات کا فقدان ہے۔ رواں برس کے اوائل میں یونیسیف نے اپنی رپورٹ میں انکشاف کیا تھا کہ پاکستان میں پیدائش کے ایک ماہ سے کم عرصے میں 1 ہزار بچوں میں سے 46 بچے ہلاک ہو جاتے ہیں۔

بلڈ پریشر کی دوائیں کھانے کے بجائے یوگا کیجیے

اونٹاریو: ایک سروے کے بعد ماہرین نے انکشاف کیا ہے کہ بلڈ پریشر کے مریض اگر دوا کھانے کے بجائے صرف یوگا کی مشقیں انجام دیں تب بھی دوائیں استعمال کرنے جیسا فائدہ ہوتا ہے۔

یورپی تنظیم برائے امراضِ قلب کی ایک کانفرنس میں پیش کردہ تحقیقی مقالے میں کہا گیا ہے کہ باقاعدہ یوگا سے بلڈ پریشر کو عین دواؤں کی طرح قابو میں رکھا جاسکتا ہے۔ اس میں کہا گیا ہے کہ روزانہ صرف 15 منٹ یوگا  اور سانس کی مشقوں سے بلڈ پریشر میں 10 فیصد تک کمی کی جاسکتی ہے۔

اس تحقیقی سروے میں 60 افراد کو شامل کیا گیا تھا۔ اس میں شرکا کو ان کی مرضی کے مطابق، گہرے سانس کی مشقیں، سکون آور آسن، ابتدائی یوگا پوزیشن یا صرف جسم کو کھینچنے کی ورزشیں کرائی گئیں۔ ان میں سے یوگا کرنے والے شرکا کے گروپ میں لوگوں کے بلڈ پریشر میں دس فیصد کمی نوٹ کی گئی۔

دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ اس تحقیق کو ایک 16 سالہ طالبعلم اشوک پانڈے نے اسکول پروجیکٹ کے طور پر انجام دیا تھا اور اس پر مبنی ایک تحقیقی مقالہ بھی لکھ ڈالا جسے اب تک 30 ہزار سائنسدانوں نے پڑھا جس کے بعد اسے کینیڈا اور جرمنی میں امراضِ قلب کی کانفرنسوں میں بھی پیش کیا گیا۔

اشوک نے کہا کہ بھارتی تہذیب میں صدیوں سے یوگا کو بلڈ پریشر بہتر بنانے کےلیے استعمال کیا جاتارہا ہے لیکن جدید دنیا اس سے ناواقف ہے۔ اشوک کے والد امراضِ قلب کے ماہر ہیں اور اشوک نے انہیں بتایا کہ یوگا بلڈ پریشر کےلیے جادوئی علاج کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔

پہلے مطالعے کے اثرات اتنے مثبت تھے کہ اب اگلے مرحلے میں اشوک لاول یونیورسٹی کے تعاون سے مزید 500 افراد پر یوگا اور بلڈ پریشر کے اثرات کو نوٹ کریں گے۔ یوگا ماہرین کا خیال ہے کہ گہرے سانس لینے سے بلڈ پریشر پر فرق پڑتا ہے۔

پستے کے 10 فوائد جن سے اکثریت واقف نہیں

کم کیلوریز

اگر آپ غذائی حراروں (کیلوریز) کی وجہ سے پریشان ہیں تو 50 پستوں میں صرف 159 کیلوریز پائی جاتی ہیں۔ اس طرح یہ خیال غلط ہے کہ پستے کھانے سے جسم موٹاپے کی جانب مائل ہوتا ہے۔

امریکا میں 12 سال تک کیے گئے ایک مطالعے سے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ پستے کھانے سے کولیسٹرول کم ہوتا ہے اور بلڈ پریشر بھی مناسب رہتا ہے۔ اس طرح امراضِ قلب کا خطرہ بھی ٹل جاتا ہے۔

ذیابیطس کو روکنے میں مددگار

ایک چھوٹے سے تجربے میں شوگر بڑھانے والی غذاؤں کے ساتھ جب پستے دیئے گئے تو اس سے خون میں شکر کی مقدار میں اضافہ نہیں ہوا۔ اس سے ماہرین کا خیال ہے کہ باقاعدگی سے پستے کھانے والے افراد کے خون میں شکر کی سطح معمول پر رہتی ہے۔

سرطان کو بھگائے

2017 کی ایک تحقیق سے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ فائبر کی وجہ سے پستے آنتوں کے سرطان کو روکنے میں نہایت مفید ثابت ہوتے ہیں۔

ذیابیطس رفتہ رفتہ انسانی اعضا کو ناکارہ کردیتا ہے، طبی ماہرین

کراچی: سرسید انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈائی بیٹیزاینڈ اینڈوکرینالوجی کے ڈائریکٹر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر زمان شیخ نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان میں شوگرکا مرض ہولناک صورت اختیار کرتا جا رہا ہے، ہرچوتھا شخص اس موذی مرض میں مبتلا ہے لیکن اپنے مرض سے متعلق آگاہ نہیں، ذیابیطس ایک خاموش قاتل ہے جو رفتہ رفتہ انسانی اعضاکو ناکارہ کر دیتا ہے.

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر زمان شیخ نے کراچی پریس کلب میں پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب میں کہا کہ مرض اور اس کی پیچیدگیوں سے بچائوکی آگہی کیلیے یکم اور 2ستمبر کو بین الاقوامی کانفرنس مقامی ہوٹل میں منعقد کی جا رہی ہے جس میں بیرون ممالک سے ایسے ماہرین کو بلایا گیا ہے جنھیں سننے کیلیے پاکستانی ماہرین بیرون ملک جاتے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر اسرا یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ گائنی کی سربراہ پروفیسر شبین ناز مسعود، کالج آف فیملی میڈیسن پاکستان کی جنرل سیکریٹری ڈاکٹر شہلا نسیم اور سر سید میڈیکل کالج کے ڈاکٹر راجیش کمار بھی موجود تھے۔

پروفیسر زمان شیخ نے بتایا کہ کانفرنس میں عالمی شہرت یافتہ ماہرین ذیابیطس دنیا بھر میں کی جانے والی تحقیق سے آگاہ کریں گے، کانفرنس میں ذیابیطس کے علاوہ ہارمون ڈیزیز، تھائی رائیڈ ڈس آرڈرز، بچوں کے چھوٹے قد ، ان فر ٹیلیٹی، اسٹی رائیڈ پرابلم ،وٹامن ڈی کی کمی، ہڈیوں کی کمزوری ، خواتین میں غیر ضروری بالوں کی نشونما اور موٹاپے کی بیماریوں پر روشنی ڈالی جائے گی، کانفرنس کے مہمان خصوصی جناح سندھ میڈیکل یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر طارق رفیع ہیں جبکہ کانفرنس کے پیٹرن پروفیسر صمد شیرا ہیں۔

ڈاکٹر شہلا نسیم نے کہا کہ کالج آف فیملی میڈیسن پاکستان میں ایک لاکھ چالیس ہزار کے قریب جنرل پریکٹیشنر ہیں جنھیں ذیابیطس کے علاج سے متعلق تربیت دی جاتی ہے، انھوں نے مزید کہا کہ پاکستان میں تحقیق کی کمی ہے جس کیلیے کوشش کی جانی چاہیے یہ کانفرنس آگہی دینے اور ڈاکٹروں کی مہارت بڑھانے میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گی۔

پروفیسر شبین ناز مسعود نے بتایا کہ کانفرنس میں حاملہ خواتین سے متعلق ایک خصوصی سیشن رکھا گیا ہے جس میں دوران حمل ذیابیطس اور اس سے ہونیوالی پیچیدگیوں اور ان کے علاج سے پر روشنی ڈالی جائے گی۔

چین میں کی گئی ایک تحقیق سے انکشاف ہوا ہے کہ انتہائی آلودہ فضا میں سانس لینے سے جو نقصان ہوتا ہے، اسے ایک سال تک اسکول سے غیرحاضری کے برابر تصور کیا جاسکتا ہے۔

امریکہ میں ییل اسکول آف پبلک ہیلتھ کے ماہر ژائی چین اور ان کے ساتھیوں کی اس تحقیق سے یہ بھی معلوم ہوا ہے کہ غیرمحفوظ فضا طالب علموں میں زبان سیکھنے اور ریاضی کی صلاحیتوں کو شدید متاثر کررہی ہیں۔

تحقیق میں کہا گیا ہے کہ آلودہ ماحول میں مسلسل رہنے سے ایک جانب تو سال بھر اسکول نہ جانے کے برابر زیاں ہوتا ہے تو دوسری جانب بالخصوص 64 سال سے زائد عمر کے بزرگوں پر اس کے شدید منفی اثرات مرتب ہوتے ہیں۔ کم تعلیم یافتہ عمر رسیدہ افراد کا ذہنی نقصان کئی سال تک اسکول سے دور رہنے کے برابر ہوتا ہے۔

اس سے قبل تحقیق سے ثابت ہوچکا ہے کہ فضائی آلودگی طلبا و طالبات میں ذہنی صلاحیت اور سمجھ بوجھ کو بھی شدید متاثر کرتی ہے تاہم آلودگی عمر رسیدہ افراد کو بھی اس سے بھی زیادہ متاثر کررہی ہے۔

اس سروے کی تفصیلات پروسیڈنگز آف دی نیشنل اکیڈمی آف سائنسز میں شائع ہوئی ہیں جس میں 2010 سے 2014 تک پورے چین میں 20 ہزار افراد کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ سروے میں زبان سیکھنے اور ریاضی کو جاننے کے ٹیسٹ بھی لیے گئے۔ معلوم ہوا کہ لوگ جتنا زیادہ آلودہ فضا میں رہیں گے، ان کی ذہنی کارکردگی اتنی ہی بری ہوتی جائے گی۔

اس سروے میں خواتین کے مقابلے میں مردوں پر آلودگی کے زیادہ اثرات دیکھے گئے۔ اس ضمن میں کی گئی گزشتہ کئی تحقیقات سے ظاہر ہوا ہے کہ جو لوگ دماغی مرض کے شکار ہوتے ہیں، فضائی آلودگی ان پر زیادہ شدت سے حملہ آور ہوکر نقصان پہنچاتی ہے۔

ایک اور تحقیق سے اشارہ ملتا ہے کہ سڑک کے کنارے رہنے والے افراد آلودگی کے باعث ڈیمنشیا جیسے امراض کا زیادہ شکار ہوسکتے ہیں۔

آلوؤں کی غذائی قوت نظرانداز نہ کیجئے

دنیا بھر میں سب سے زیادہ کھائی جانے والی سبزیوں میں آلو سرِفہرست ہے لیکن حالیہ دور میں ’آلو خوری‘ سے وابستہ موٹاپے کے تصور کی وجہ سے لوگ نوڈلز، سیریلز اور دیگر کھانوں کو ترجیح دے رہے ہیں تاہم غذائیت کے لحاظ سے آلو اب بھی بہترین ذریعہ ہیں۔

بھاپ سے گلائے گئے 100 گرام آلوؤں میں چکنائی، سوڈیم، کولیسٹرول اور گلوٹِن نہیں پایا جاتا جب کہ  اتنی مقدار کے آلوؤں سے وٹامن سی کی روزانہ نصف ضرورت پوری ہوجاتی ہیں۔

آلو میں کیلے سے زیادہ پوٹاشیئم ہوتی ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ وٹامن بی 6، فائبر، میگنیشیم اور جسم کےلیے ضروری اینٹی آکسیڈنٹس بھی پائے جاتے ہیں۔

اگرچہ آلو میں نشاستہ ہوتا ہے لیکن یہ خون میں شکر کی مقدار قابو میں رکھتا ہے، ہاضمہ بہتر کرتا ہے اور غذائی اجزاء کو معدے میں جذب کرکے شکم سیری (پیٹ بھرنے) کا احساس دیتا ہے، بدن کی سوزش اور جلن کو کم کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ خون کی روانی کو بہتر بنانے میں آلو اہم کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔

آلو میں موجود کاربوہائیڈریٹس بہت دیر تک جسم کو توانائی فراہم کرتے رہتے ہیں کیونکہ یہ پیچیدہ نوعیت کے کاربوہائیڈریٹس ہوتے ہیں جنہیں توڑ کر گلوکوز میں بدلنے اور توانائی حاصل کرنے کا عمل خاصی دیر تک جاری رہتا ہے۔

اسی لیے ڈائٹنگ کے نام پر آلوؤں کو اپنی غذا سے نکال باہر کرنا کسی بھی صورت دانش مندانہ فیصلہ نہیں ہوگا۔

The second study, “Curcumin and Its Promise as an Anti-Cancer Drug: An Analysis of its Anti-Cancer and Anti-Fungal Effects in Cancer and Associated Complications from Invasive Fungal Infections” focused on the healing powers of curcumin, the primary polyphenol found in turmeric. Curcumin has a heightened ability to withstand attacks from free radicals within the body, allowing it to protect the body against fungal infections.

The aim of this review is to discuss curcumin’s dual pharmacological activities regarding its applications as a natural anticancer and antifungal agent. Curcumin is an up-and-coming drug of natural origin with multi-target properties and it has exhibited efficient anticancer and antifungal activities alone or in combination with conventional chemotherapy drugs and antifungal agents. The dual pharmacological activities of curcumin may make it a good candidate for the prevention and treatment of cancer and its cancer-related invasive fungal infection related complications.”
